Tito Jackson, born Toriano Adaryll Jackson on October 15, 1953, was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist.

Tito showed musical talent with the guitar while growing up in Gary, Indiana. His father, Joe Jackson, saw this talent and encouraged his children to start a group.

Tito, along with his brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, became The Jackson 5.

Tito’s guitar skills were an essential part of the group’s unique sound, complementing their energetic performances and soulful harmonies.

The group signed with Motown Records in 1969, and their infectious hits like “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There” quickly catapulted them to fame.

While Tito did not enjoy the same level of solo success as his brothers Michael and Jermaine, he remained a vital part of the Jackson family’s music.

He continued to perform with his siblings in various reunions, including The Jacksons, a rebranding of The Jackson 5, after they left Motown in the mid-1970s.

In addition to his work with The Jacksons, Tito pursued solo projects later in his career.

In 2016, he released his debut solo album, Tito Time, which showcased his love for blues, R&B, and soul music.

Tito Jackson’s contribution to music is often understated, but his steady presence as a guitarist and performer helped shape the Jackson family’s legacy, ensuring their place in music history as one of the most influential families in pop and R&B.
